Autism Awareness

Posted Date: 3/28/25 (1:35 PM)

April is World Autism Month! Help us celebrate our differences by participating in this school-wide activity:

Washington Drive’s

Autism Acceptance Campaign 2025

In April, we're celebrating Autism Acceptance Month at our school! We're inviting each student to participate in a collaborative art project to showcase our community's belief that "We Are All Unique." Please decorate the attached infinity symbol to reflect your individuality and creativity.

Here are a few things to remember about autism:

  • People with autism may learn and experience the world in different ways, and that's wonderful!

  • Everyone has their own unique way of expressing and understanding emotions.

  • Individuals with autism enjoy playing and connecting with others, sometimes in groups and sometimes independently.

Instructions:

  1. Decorate your infinity symbol using any art materials you like (crayons, markers, watercolors, etc.).

  2. Carefully cut out your decorated symbol.

  3. Please return your completed symbol to Mrs. Kasin via the main office at WDPS throughout April.
