The Final Countdown!

As we wrap up another tremendous school year this week, I want to take a moment to thank you all for the continued support, partnership, and pride you bring to our district. Congratulations to the Class of 2025—our graduating seniors! We are so proud of your accomplishments, your growth, and the legacy you leave behind at Harborfields. We look forward to celebrating you at your commencement ceremony this coming Saturday.  As you step into the next chapter of your lives, know that you carry with you the strength, resilience, and spirit that define this community.

To our administrators, teachers, and staff, thank you for your unwavering dedication to our students and families. Your hard work, compassion, and commitment have made a lasting impact, and your efforts throughout the year do not go unnoticed.

And to our families, thank you for your partnership. Your ongoing support of our students and staff plays a vital role in the success of our schools.

Have a happy and healthy summer!

Senior Video

Last week, high school students celebrated the official last day of classes for the school year! We’re incredibly proud of all our students for their hard work, resilience, and growth throughout the year. To commemorate the last day, seniors came together to watch the senior video, which included pictures and videos of the class from kindergarten through their senior year. Mrs. Ritter, art teacher and photojournalism advisor, and her team did another extraordinary job of documenting the many milestones and memories of the Class of 2025. Thank you to Mrs. Ritter and the many teachers, families, and students who contributed pictures and videos.

SEPTA Appreciation Awards Dinner

I had the pleasure of attending SEPTA’s Appreciation Dinner, where Board Trustee Rachael Risinger was presented with the Community Advocacy Award for her advocacy efforts throughout the year. I would also like to congratulate Ms. Graceann Fitzmaurice, Ms. Susan Cove, and Dr. Brian Harris on receiving SEPTA’s Distinguished Service Award.

It was a great evening celebrating the work our entire community does to ensure the success of each child, each day, as one Harborfields family. Thank you, SEPTA, for all you do for our students and families!

Congratulations - National Junior Honor Society

We join with our families in being so incredibly proud of the 2025 inductees of the Oldfield Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society! Congratulations to all on this amazing achievement. Thank you to our advisors, Mrs. Pellizzi and Mrs. O'Brien, for all of your hard work throughout the year, working with all of the NJHS members and organizing this wonderful event!

Here are some of my favorite moments from this past week:

Harborfields High School

Senior prom is one of the many milestone events of a young person’s life that we have the great fortune of witnessing.  I want to thank our high school administration, staff (including our senior class advisors), and senior class student government officers for all they did to make this year’s prom so exceptional. Click the picture below to see some of the fun!

Oldfield Middle School

Thanks to Mr. Havranek, Mrs. Russo, and the OMS Student Governments from the past three years, there is now a wonderful new addition to OMS. The OMS Student Government donated two benches and a Little Library, which will provide a new place for our students to enjoy the fresh air and will serve as a reminder of the hard work and care the OMS Student Government puts forth every year! Great work all around!

Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School

To celebrate Flag Day, members of the Harborfields High School Rho Kappa Honor Society visited TJL to lead a fun and educational experience for their younger peers.  Together, they collaborated on a fun craft, dove into the history of the flag, and even put their knowledge to the test in a Jeopardy-style trivia game.  I am so proud of our high school students who serve as great role models for all of us!

Washington Drive Primary School

Washington Drive held three heartfelt ceremonies for the future high school Class of 2035! This group of students has left their mark on Washington Drive, and we know big things are in store for them at TJL and beyond! Congratulations on this milestone event for our students and families!

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND SHOUTOUTS

Congratulations - Harborfields PTA Unit Recognition

So many of our most beloved events and traditions throughout the school year wouldn’t be possible without the tireless effort of our PTAs. Thank you to all the PTA members and volunteers for all you’ve done to make this year such an incredible one for the students and staff of Harborfields Central School District!

The Harborfields Council of PTAs held their annual recognition breakfast this past week.  Pictured below are most of our unit executive boards and volunteers who step up to make a difference.
