🌟 Welcome Back to School! 🌟
We are so excited to welcome your children back to school! We know they are looking forward to seeing their teachers and friends. 💛
Here are a few important reminders for this first week:
🕘 School Hours
Our school day runs from 9:20 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
👉 A photo ID is always required at pickup.
🚌 Buses
Bus routes may take longer than scheduled during the first few days. Drivers are learning their routes, and students are getting used to their stops. Please be prepared for later-than-normal pickups and drop-offs.
✅ In the morning, check with the driver and/or the bus window sign to make sure it is the correct bus number/ animal and that it is a WDPS bus (not a TJL bus). Take a moment to introduce yourself and your child to the driver.
Buses leave WDPS at approximately 3:45 p.m. (this will be later at first). If a bus is delayed, we will send a ParentSquare alert so you know when it departs.
🚗 Drop-Offs & Pickups
- Please join the drop-off line in the morning and have your child ready to exit when staff open the car door.
- For safety, do not stop for photos or conversations in the drop-off lane. If you need to speak with staff, please notify the security guard for assistance with parking.
Dismissal locations:
Kindergarten – Playground entrance
1st Grade – Next to the Treasure Cove entrance
2nd Grade & Siblings – Main entrance
👉 Please park, bring a photo ID, and come to the doorway to greet your child. A pickup note is required unless you have a permanent pickup pass.
🍎 Lunch & Recess
- Each class has a teaching assistant supervising lunch & recess.
- Students may bring back non-perishable items they don’t finish.
- If your child is having trouble eating at lunch, teachers will contact you.
- Refill stations are available for reusable bottles 💧. Please avoid oversized bottles.
Recess is outdoors whenever possible (20 minutes daily). ☀️🌧️ Please dress your child for the weather and consider a raincoat with a hood for wet days.

🍽️ School breakfast and lunch are free for all students this year!

📵 Technology Policy
Cell phones and smart watches are not permitted at WDPS.
If a student must bring one, it must remain powered off and stored in their backpack 🎒 all day.
