•🚨 Emergency Preparedness Drill – TOMORROW
On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, WDPS will conduct our annual Emergency Preparedness Drill as noted on the District calendar. As part of this required practice, all students will be dismissed 15 minutes early. This drill complies with Section 155.13 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, which mandates early-dismissal disaster preparedness drills in every school district. All students (with the exception of permanent pickups, who have a pickup pass from the main office) will be required to go home on their regularly assigned bus. Please do not pick up children on this day. If this is unavoidable, pickups must take place prior to 3:00 PM, and you must send a note to school that morning informing your child's teacher of the pickup arrangements. If you arrive after 3:00 P.M., students will not be released until after the buses have left. Students taking the bus will review bus safety procedures and participate in a silent dismissal. Please be prepared that buses may arrive a few minutes early.
We encourage families to have children take the bus home on this day, as it provides valuable practice in the event of a real emergency or early dismissal.

•🌱 GROWing Learners – Our Garden Towers!
Last week, Washington Drive students participated in an assembly introducing our Garden Towers. Each grade level will be responsible for caring for their own tower as we learn about hydroponic gardening. Students will work together to grow lettuce and make meaningful connections about how our food travels from farm to table. 🥬🚜Our tiny seedlings are already sprouting! Students will soon help transfer these young plants to the Garden Towers. Stay tuned for more photos and stories as we continue this beautiful growth journey together. 📸💚
