This is an exciting week at Washington Drive, and we have so many special moments we don’t want you to miss! This Friday marks the 100th day of school - our students are officially 100 days smarter, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished. We are also feeling the love as we celebrate Valentine’s festivities and honor our incredible School Resource Officers for School Resource Officer Appreciation Day. In addition, we proudly recognize P.S. I Love You Day, reaffirming our commitment to fostering a supportive school environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued, loved, and supported. 
We would also like to recognize the incredible performance our students and staff presented at the Districtwide Black History Month Celebration. It was a wonderful tribute honoring and celebrating Black history. Students have been learning about Lunar New Year and are looking forward to our Lantern Parade when we return from Winter Recess.

We are excited to invite you to a special parent workshop taking place at TJL on February 9th at 7pm titled “Unlocking Leadership at Home.” This engaging evening will focus on helping children build confidence, develop strong leadership skills, and learn healthy ways to navigate conflict.
We truly believe that all students have the capability to be leaders, and this workshop will provide valuable tools to help nurture those skills at home. This event is open to all parents of students in grades K–8. To support families, the TJL Makerspace and Library will be open with supervision, offering a fun and safe space for children while parents attend the workshop.
We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful evening of learning and connection!

2/9-2/13- P.S. I Love You Day- Be the Light - We will recognize P.S. I Love You Day with activities that promote kindness, belonging, and connection. Throughout the week, students will participate in a variety of meaningful activities that support this important work. On Friday, we invite all students and staff to wear purple as a visible show of our shared commitment to kindness and connection. 💜
