🍁 Welcome to November at WDPS! 🍁

What an incredible October we had at WDPS! Our Little Tornadoes were busy learning, growing, celebrating, and making memories! 💚
From celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and showing their school spirit during the WizFit Challenge, to participating in our Reading Rainbow Challenge, learning important lessons about kindness during our anti-bullying presentation, visiting the pumpkin patch, and showing off their costumes at our Halloween Parade — October was packed with fun!
And guess what? November will not disappoint! We have another exciting month ahead, filled with special events, celebrations, and opportunities to come together as a WDPS family!

Have you joined your child's Google Classroom yet? If not, please make this a priority!
Our teachers work hard to share the wonderful learning experiences happening in their classrooms, and we don't want you to miss out! Google Classroom is a great way to stay connected and get a glimpse into your child's school day.
Google Classroom is also our learning platform in the event of an emergency school closure. We want all families to feel comfortable accessing it now, rather than trying to figure it out when they really need it!
If you need help getting connected, please don't hesitate to call us! We are happy to walk you through the process. We want every WDPS family connected!

🦃 Giving Thanks & Giving Back! 🧡

This Thanksgiving season, WDPS will be collecting food donations to support families in need in our community. If you are able, please consider making a donation.

🎨 WDPS Clubs Kick Off Friday, November 6! 🎉

The wait is almost over! Our first session of WDPS Clubs begins on Friday, November 6! We can't wait to welcome our students for a morning of fun, creativity, friendship, and exploring new interests! 💚

Honoring Our Veterans — November 10

One of our most meaningful WDPS traditions is our Veterans Day celebration! We look forward to welcoming and honoring the brave men and women who have served our country.
To help create a sea of red, white, and blue, we ask students to wear their grade-level colors on Tuesday, November 10:

• ❤️ Kindergarten: Red
• 🤍 First Grade: White
• 💙 Second Grade: Blue

We can't wait to show our veterans how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice!

📚✨ Save the Date: Principals' Storytime!

Thursday, November 12 | 6:00 PM | Virtual
Get your pajamas ready, find a cozy spot, and join us for an evening of stories, laughter, and SURPRISES!
Mrs. McNally and Mrs. Neira will be joined by some very special surprise guests for a night of reading fun! We have mystery book selections, clues to share, and even a surprise snack we'll be baking together! 👩‍🍳
Want to join in the baking fun? All you'll need is:

• 1½ cups of self-rising flour
• ¾ cup of heavy cream

Here's how to join the fun!
On November 12, visit our Principals' Storytime Google Classroom and click the Google Meet link at 6:00 PM. We recommend logging in a few minutes early so you're ready when the fun begins!

The purpose of these drills is to ensure that everyone is familiar with our emergency procedures and can respond quickly and effectively in the event of an actual emergency.
